Nominations for the AEA Distinguished Service Award Open in April
Do you know an economist whose dedication and service have strengthened the economics profession? Help ensure their contributions are recognized by nominating them for the AEA Distinguished Service Award. This award, which is adjudicated by the AEA Committee on Professional Climate (CPC), honors individuals whose volunteer efforts have made a significant and lasting impact on the field of economics at a national level. While the award is presented by the AEA, nominees’ service does not need to be limited to AEA-supported activities—contributions across the broader economic community are welcome.
Many economists give generously of their time through leadership, mentorship, program development, and professional service. If someone comes to mind, we encourage you to take a moment to submit a nomination and help recognize their important contributions. Learn more and submit a nomination: https://www.aeaweb.org/about-aea/honors-awards/distinguished-service-award. Nominations open on April 1.
AEA Distinguished Economic Education Award Nominations Are Open
This award, which is adjudicated by the AEA Committee on Economic Education (AEA-CEE), was established to acknowledge excellence in economic education at a national level. Nominations must be able to document at least fifteen years of sustained and impactful contribution to several areas of economic education, including teaching, the development of curriculum and pedagogy, scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) of economics, mentoring of students and young faculty, and service at the institutional, regional, and state levels. The award is conferred annually at the AEA-CEE’s Friends of Economic Education Reception and announced at the AEA Awards Ceremony at the ASSA meeting. Nominations are due by October 1.
