The Williams College Economics Department invites applications for one tenure-track position in applied microeconomics, to begin July 1, 2025. We are particularly seeking candidates whose work relates to gender economics, labor economics, public economics, public policy, political economy, health economics, urban economics, or industrial organization. We seek candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their scholarship, teaching and service; and we especially encourage applications from members of historically underrepresented groups in the field. Candidates should have a Ph.D., or all requirements for the Ph.D. degree, completed by September 2025.

The Gaius Charles Bolin Fellowships at Williams College promote diversity on college faculties by encouraging graduate students from underrepresented groups to complete a terminal graduate degree and pursue careers in college teaching. These fellowships are two-year residencies at Williams. Fellows devote the bulk of the first year to the completion of dissertation work while also teaching one course as a faculty member. The second year of residency (ideally with degree in hand) is spent on academic career development while again teaching just one course.

The Development Research Group (DECRG) of the World Bank is seeking to recruit PhD economists. DECRG conducts policy-relevant research on development in low- and middle-income countries. Researchers are expected to maintain an outstanding scholarly publication record. They are also asked to provide relevant policy advice and technical expertise to colleagues throughout the World Bank, and to policymakers in client countries. We are open to applications from candidates with interests in all fields relevant to development, but this year are particularly focused on work on firms, trade, macro, and energy/infrastructure.
