The Department of Economics in the College of Business and Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the area of Applied Microeconomics beginning August 2024. The successful candidate will be able to teach courses in Labor Economics and Managerial Economics and in relevant specialty areas at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The successful candidate will pursue a research agenda within Applied Microeconomics with strong empirical and statistical programming skills in handling large datasets. We also welcome candidates who have experience in applying machine learning and artificial intelligence methods to their research projects to apply. The successful candidate will also demonstrate a record of, or potential for, excellence in teaching with an emphasis on promoting the success of students; clear evidence of scholarly potential; and commitment to working with diverse populations and serving as active member of the university community.

This is a full-time position with responsibilities for teaching undergraduate courses in Economics and graduate courses in the MBA program, research, and service to the university, profession and community.

Ph.D. in Economics is required. ABD candidates are encouraged to apply, but must have their degree completed by the contract start date of August 26; if not, they will be hired on a one-year contract with the understanding that their degree will be completed before January 2025 in advance of their first scheduled review.

Criminal background check is required for employment. The Economics Department is in the AACSB-accredited College of Business and Economics.
