The Department of Economics at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor to begin August 12, 2024.

The Department of Economics offers an M.S. in Economics. The Department also plays a key role in the Ph.D. in Business Administration with a Major in Finance, the Ph.D. in Public Policy, and the M.S. in Mathematical Finance programs. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality instruction in one or more of those programs depending on the candidate’s fields.

Qualifications
High-quality research and teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels are expected of the successful candidate. Preference will be given to candidates with research interests in applied microeconomics or macroeconomics with strong quantitative and econometric skills. Candidates should have a completed doctorate in economics or a related field by the start of the appointment and must meet academic qualifications as described in the Belk College Policy on Qualified Faculty Status.

The Department prefers candidates with prior experience working with a student population from a variety of different backgrounds, including various ages, races, ethnicities, backgrounds, identities, and abilities, in order to support the mission and initiatives of the Department and College.
