(Ref. 15/387/3)

The group of Professor Liang Guo in the Department of Marketing at The Chinese University of Hong Kong is seeking applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position in Behavioral Economics or Neuroeconomics. Our research objective is to provide an integral theoretical framework to rationalize various behavioral anomalies of preference construction (e.g. context effects, anchoring effect and preference reversals), risk preference and time preference. To this end, the research will involve the development of normative decision making models, and the testing of theoretical predictions using empirical methods in experimental economics and/or neuroscience.

Applicants should have (i) a PhD degree in a relevant field; (ii) solid background in Behavioral Economics and/or Neuroeconomic methods (EEG, MRI) (knowledge of computational neuroscience would be desirable but not necessary); and (iii) excellent record of research experience and potential.

The Postdoctoral Fellow will conduct collaborative research under the supervision of Professor Liang Guo. The position is primarily devoted to research, with no teaching and minimal administrative duties.

Appointment will be made on contract basis for two years, renewable subject to mutual agreement. The start date of the position is flexible.

Please send your complete application package (in a single pdf file with your name as file name), including (1) cover letter; (2) detailed CV; (3) one writing sample or representative paper; and (4) two reference letters (sent separately), to Ms. Candy Lam through email (candylam@baf.cuhk.edu.hk) or to the Department of Marketing, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shatin, Hong Kong.

Review of applications will continue until the position is filled.

Enquiries can be addressed to Professor Liang Guo (email: LiangGuo@baf.cuhk.edu.hk).
