About JOE Network

(Job Openings for Economists)

The career network designed by economists—for economists

Job Openings for Economists (JOE), the leading employment publication for economists from around the world, was established in 1974.  JOE was expanded in 2014 into the JOE Network to automate repetitive activities associated with the economics job market cycle for employers, candidates, and faculty letter writers.

Each year, over 1,500+ PhDs secure employment at colleges, universities, corporations and government agencies with the help of the JOE Network. Nearly one-third of the jobs listed in JOE are for positions outside of North America.

Along with JOE Network, the AEA also provides services known as "Signaling" and the "Job Market Scramble" to facilitate job searches.

JOE is a service of the American Economic Association.
