The Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Basel, Switzerland, invites applications for a
Professorship in Macroeconomics (open rank)
to begin on September 1, 2015 or at the earliest convenience.
The appointment will be at the level of Full Professor, Associate Professor, or Tenure-Track Assistant Professor, depending on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience. Applicants for a full or associate professorship should possess an excellent international publication record and several years of postdoctoral research experience. All applicants should have demonstrated a commitment to teaching excellence at all levels.
The successful candidate pursues research in macroeconomics or related fields, such as monetary economics, economic history, growth or development, from a macroeconomics perspective. The professorship involves teaching degree courses in macroeconomics at the Bachelor’s and Master’s level and contributing to the faculty’s doctoral program. The teaching commitment amounts to 4 to 8 hours per week each semester, depending on the level of appointment. Teaching duties may be carried out in English. The position also entails securing research funding and participating in the university administration.
