The Economics Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz invites applications for a position in experimental economics/behavioral economics at the (tenure-track) assistant professor or (tenured) associate professor level. Applicants should be able to contribute to designing and conducting novel economic experiments in the laboratory or field and to analyzing experimental data. We have a preference for candidates with expertise in microeconomic theory. Possible related areas of research and teaching might include introductory, intermediate, and graduate levels of microeconomics, microeconomic theory, mechanism design, econometrics, or cognitive science.

The Economics Department has a Ph.D. program, a professional Master's program, and several undergraduate programs. Applicants will be expected to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate level, advise and mentor graduate students, and contribute to graduate education, the research environment of the department and to university and professional service. The successful candidate must be able to work with students, faculty and staff from a wide range of social and cultural backgrounds. The campus is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their research, teaching, and/or service.
