The Office of Financial Research (OFR) anticipates staff openings in its Research and Analysis Center in 2024 for supervisory research economists with a strong interest in issues related to financial stability and systemic risk in the financial system, banking, non-bank financial institutions, or financial markets. Interested candidates should have an enthusiasm for research development and managerial guidance of junior staff, as the position will oversee 4-10 research economists and analysts.

A PhD or equivalent experience in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or related disciplines, with evidence of a strong interest in financial stability research and specialties in macroeconomics, systemic risk in the financial system, banking and regulation, and financial market microstructure are required. Two years of experience conducting economic analysis for papers and reports for publication, to understand financial system risks, or to generate mathematical or statistical models that assess the impact of financial system developments on the economy is also required. Applicant must have strong oral and written communication skills, demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience, and U.S. citizenship. Expertise in economic analysis for papers and reports as evidenced by publications, presentations, and other writings, as well as experience supervising and performing highly complex analysis and technically demanding duties in support of research and/or policy objectives is preferred.
