The Digital Future Initiative at Columbia Business School is pleased to announce that it is seeking to hire an inaugural DFI Postdoctoral Research Scholar. The Postdoctoral Research Scholar will receive a research budget and collaborate on projects of mutual interest with members of the Algorithmic Economy Lab (https://business.columbia.edu/dfi/labs/algorithmic-economy-lab) or the Humans in the Digital Economy Lab (https://business.columbia.edu/dfi/labs/humans-digital-economy-lab).
The ideal candidate will have an interest in conducting research relevant to issues related to either the Algorithmic Economy Lab or the Humans in the Digital Economy Lab. Topics of interest include the study of the deployment of AI tools across business settings, the interface of humans and AI tools, as well as the methodologies underlying such tools. Applicants should have a Ph.D. (or expect to complete theirs by Fall 2024) in a relevant discipline (including operations research, marketing, management, economics, computer science, or a related field) from an accredited institution and have a record of being an outstanding scholar in every respect.
Teaching is not required, but we expect that the applicant will participate in the broader mission of the Digital Future Initiative, for example, aiding in organizing conferences and panel discussions and outreach to students and industry practitioners.
Columbia Business School is a dynamic center of research, with faculty, postdoctoral and visiting scholars, and doctoral students taking a wide range of approaches to social science research with applied implications.
