Fordham's Economics Department welcomes applications for a Fall 2024 tenure-track appointment at the Assistant Professor level. Preferred candidates must have research and teaching interests in Econometrics and Machine Learning. Applicants should have a strong methodological background in Econometrics and Machine Learning so that they can (a) conduct research using Big data and apply advanced machine learning techniques to answer research questions in any sub-field of economics including but not limited to macro, finance, labor, and development, and (b) teach these methods proficiently to undergraduates and graduate (MA and PhD) students.

Our department serves a diverse student body at two campuses in New York City, at Lincoln Center in Manhattan and at the Rose Hill campus in the Bronx near the Botanical Garden. The chosen candidate will participate in undergraduate and graduate M.A. and Ph.D. Economics programs. The campus location for the position is currently defined as open.

The requirements of the position are (1) A doctoral degree in economics (in hand or expected) with expertise in econometrics and machine learning and/or big data techniques; (2) the potential to produce high-quality academic research in leading journals and secure external research funding; (3) a commitment to high-quality teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates with demonstrated research potential and who expect to complete their PhD by August 2024 are encouraged to apply.
