The Department of Family and Consumer Studies (FCS) at the University of Utah invites applications for a career-line faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor (Lecturer) in the area of Financial Planning and Counseling. The faculty member will have an 80% teaching and 20% service nine-month, full-time appointment in the FCS. The initial contract will be for the academic year 2023-2024, although it is expected to renew with subsequent appointments of a longer duration.This is a full-time position with benefits.

Position responsibilities include: (1) serving as the coordinator of the Financial Planning and Counseling Program at the Herriman Campus, 30 miles southeast of the main campus; (2) teaching 7 courses per year; (3) service as interested or relevant to the position; and (4) no formal research expectations.

Applicant requirements: (1) earned doctoral degree in a related field by start date; (2) experience and/or demonstrated potential for teaching excellence; and (3) strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI).
