Job Announcement:
The Department of Economics and Finance at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) invites applications for four tenure-track Assistant Professor of Economics positions. While candidates from all fields are encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with strong quantitative skills in the fields of urban/regional economics, international economics, labor economics, health economics, public finance, real estate, and bank management.
One of these four tenure-track positions will be directly affiliated with the Center for Free Enterprise, a newly formed center focused on serving a predominantly Hispanic student population and binational business community. Applicants with strong quantitative skills among the fields listed above with a genuine interest in the student engagement and outreach efforts of the Center should apply using the separate link specified below.
The expected starting date for all positions is September 1, 2023. Salary and benefits are AACSB-competitive. Hiring decisions are subject to final budgetary approval.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must complete their Ph.D. in Economics prior to the starting date. Successful candidates must demonstrate the potential to publish in high quality journals and provide evidence of quality instruction. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are also important.
