About the Lab:

The AI-Econ Lab (AIEL) at Örebro University, Örebro, Sweden, is an international and interdisciplinary research lab that spans several countries and disciplines, including economics, computer science and statistics. Our focus is on how rapid progress in artificial intelligence (AI) changes the nature of work and especially for white collar workers and in services.

Position Description:

For a new project, we are looking for a postdoc in economics, statistics, or computer science. The project studies organizations' and employees' exposure to and adaptation to different types of AI in several countries and for decades. We will combine methods from economics, statistics and computer science and use unique and comprehensive micro data. The duties range from processing microdata, over designing, conducting and interpreting comprehensive microeconometric analyses, to reporting the results by writing / co-authoring manuscripts for high-quality scientific journals. You will also be expected to actively contribute to the research environment at the lab.

The ideal candidate has previous experience of handling and microeconometrically analyzing large databases, for example, using Stata and SQL / Python, as well as using microeconometrics, preferably in combination with machine learning. Your background can predominantly be in labor economics or in quantitative analysis using machine learning techniques, alternatively in international economics or innovation. Experience of working with administrative data and text-based analysis is an advantage.

You should also have and demonstrate:
• Motivation to conduct internationally competitive research
• A track record of high-quality manuscripts / publications in labor economics, machine learning, international economics or technological development / innovation
• A strong interest in the project's research area
• Excellent ability to conduct empirical research
