Lead/Principal Research Economist
The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the largest source of financing for development in Latin America and the Caribbean, wishes to interview Ph.D.-level economists to work in its Research Department (RES).
We are looking to interview a senior research economist for our applied micro group who specializes in areas such as environmental economics, industrial organization, labor economics, poverty, and public economics. Candidates should have a strong record of publications. We particularly seek a combination of rigorous academic approach and the potential to publish as well as a strong interest on policy issues.
We are considering candidates with a Ph.D. in Economics and a minimum of 6 years of experience. Successful candidates would possess: (1) strong technical skills; (2) a record of high-quality, original research in peer-reviewed journals; and (3) the ability to communicate with a wide range of potential audiences. Preference will be given to candidates who combine a solid academic profile with an interest in policy, and who have worked on topics relevant to development in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Areas of Interest: Environmental economics, industrial organization, labor economics, and public economics.
Staff members of the IDB Research Department will conduct interviews soon after the call for applications is finished.
