Position Description
The Kenneth C. Griffin Department of Economics at the University of Chicago invites applications for a Senior Instructional Professor (at rank Assistant, Associate, or Full) position with expertise in microeconomics, macroeconomics, and its applied fields to begin on or after July 1, 2022. The Senior Instructional Professor will teach four courses in the undergraduate curriculum. In addition, the Senior Instructional Professor will work with faculty to develop content for classes that can be taught virtually to a broader audience and lead curricular and co-curricular development in partnership with different entities outside the university.

Qualifications
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Economics and a record of teaching courses in applied economics, particularly pertaining to basic probability, statistics, and econometrics with an emphasis on practical applications of the tools taught in these courses. Successful applicants will have a record of teaching excellence in statistical methods and applied economics.

Outstanding in-person, written, and virtual communication skills and the ability to teach audiences with diverse backgrounds and with varying levels of knowledge about economics is required. Applicants must be able to engage broad audiences effectively on social media. Prior experience in program/curriculum design and management is strongly preferred. Preference will be given to applicants who have a demonstrated record of disseminating economic ideas clearly to the general public in writing and through presentations.
