The School of Hotel and Tourism Management at the CUHK Business School is now inviting applications for the post of Associate Professors / Assistant Professors in real estate. Applications from qualified scholars in all specialty areas of finance, urban economics, real estate, and real estate finance will be considered.

Applicants should have a relevant PhD degree (or one that is close to completion). The appointees will (a) teach basic and advanced-level real estate, real estate related finance and/or hospitality courses at both undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels; (b) conduct high quality research and publish in top tier mainstream finance and economics journals and top-tier real estate and urban economics journals; and (c) render services to the School of Hotel and Tourism Management to advance the real estate industry in Hong Kong and Asia.

This is a full-time tenure post. Appointments will normally be made on contract basis for up to three years initially commencing August 2020, which, subject to demonstration of the requisite level of performance and mutual agreement, may lead to longer-term appointment or substantiation later.

About the School of Hotel and Tourism Management

The School of Hotel and Tourism Management is an integral part of the CUHK Business School. It was established in 1998. The vision of School is to become the most preferred school in Asia by offering top programs for students pursuing managerial positions in hospitality, tourism, and real estate industries. Currently, the School offers BBA in Hospitality and Real Estate program, MSc in Management of Real Estate and Hospitality Assets program and a MPhil-PhD Program in both hospitality and real estate streams. As far as research is concerned, it targets to produce high-quality, high-impact frontier research rooted in mainstream disciplines and benefiting the hospitality, tourism, and real estate industries. The School is in the process of developing a strategic plan to strengthen teaching and research capabilities in the real estate area.
