The Hobby School of Public Affairs at the University of Houston (UH) seeks to hire a tenure track (open rank) faculty member for Fall 2020 in a core area of Public Policy such as education, energy and the environment, health, housing, immigration, institutional, transportation policy, or political economy and policymaking. We welcome a broad range of applicants but are particularly interested in those who are willing to engage in multidisciplinary research.

Applicants are expected to demonstrate a record of scholarly productivity, commitment to develop and sustain a nationally competitive program of research with implications for public policy, and capability and commitment to contribute to undergraduate and graduate programs. The Hobby School emphasizes multidisciplinary collaboration and affiliation. Individuals with cross-cutting disciplinary and/or methodological interests are particularly encouraged to apply, as are those with interests in working with diverse populations. Preference will be given to candidates with strong formal and methodological skill sets in areas including but not limited to data visualization, decision algorithms, GIS, natural language parsing, network analysis, small area models, survey research methods, laboratory and/or field experiments, and probabilistic forecasts.
