The School of Economics at the University of Kent invites applications from scholars of international distinction for a Chair (Full Professorship) or Readership (equivalent to Associate Professorship) in Macroeconomics.

The School has a strong research culture and has one of the leading groups in macroeconomics in the UK.

A number of strong appointments have been made in recent years which has led to a growing reputation in several fields of research. In particular, macroeconomics and growth, development economics, applied microeconomics, labour economics, and behavioural economics. The School hosts the Macroeconomics, Growth, and History Centre (MaGHiC), which is attracting growing attention from international scholars and policy makers alike, and we are seeking to develop this research base further.

Your research and leadership will further develop the School and the macroeconomics research area organised within MaGHiC. You will have a clear international profile and reputation for excellence and an outstanding record of publications that have demonstrable impact in the broad field of macroeconomics.

You will contribute significantly to the development of the School’s research strategy, be active in attracting research funding, and play a full role in both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching including PhD supervision.
