The Department of Economics invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in applied microeconomics effective August 2018. The Department of Economics at the University of Houston is dedicated to producing top-flight research while training students in the latest techniques in economic analysis. We welcome candidates whose experience in research and teaching has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to excellence and diversity.
Preference will be given to candidates with strong model-oriented empirical skills. Candidates working in public economics, political economy, behavioral economics, or environmental economics are especially encouraged to apply.

Applications should include cover letter, curriculum vitae, three reference letters, and a research paper. Candidates are expected to have their Ph.D. by August 2018.
The department will conduct interviews at the January 2018 AEA meetings in Philadelphia. Review of candidates will begin November 1, 2017 and continue until the position is filled.
