General Duties and Responsibilities: Spearhead an internationally recognized research program focusing on agricultural, environmental, resource, or development economics. This program should address current and emerging state, national and global issues of significant importance. Prolific publishing in high-quality academic journals is expected in conjunction with communication of results and expertise to policy makers, industry, and other constituencies. Collaboration with other faculty members and the directing of a substantial number of graduate (particularly Ph.D.) students is also expected. All faculty members are responsible for obtaining sufficient extramural funding to support their graduate students and other research expenditures. Teaching appointment will alternate between two and three classes per year and may include a summer course. A strong commitment to the department’s instructional programs and to excellence in teaching and graduate student mentoring is expected of all faculty members.

Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics, Applied Economics, or Economics is required with strong knowledge of economic theory and quantitative methods, willingness to work in a team environment, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability and commitment to attract significant amounts of external funding. The position is open to highly qualified individuals from all fields within economics.
