Full Text of JOE Listing:

The Economics Department of Reed College invites applications from economists who are strongly committed to undergraduate teaching for two tenure-track positions to begin in the fall of 2018. Appointed faculty are expected to teach five one-semester courses (with fewer preps), including both advanced undergraduate courses in their fields and core courses. Faculty are also expected to advise several year-long senior thesis projects each year.

All applicants should have completed a Ph.D. in economics or a closely related field by August 2018. We are happy to consider applications from candidates at all points in their careers. We will be reviewing applications in two rounds, with an early deadline of October 15 and a later deadline of November 15.

Applicants who are already appointed elsewhere, or who are particularly interested in the position, should consider applying for the early deadline as we will be able to schedule some campus visits late in the Fall semester. Applicants whose materials are received by November 15, 2017 will be considered for interviews at the AEA meetings in Philadelphia.

Individuals interested in this position should send a detailed letter of application describing both your interest in teaching and the courses you would most like to teach in an undergraduate liberal arts college. In addition, please send a curriculum vitae, teaching evaluations, a recent research paper, and arrange for three letters of recommendation to be submitted. Please send all materials to: http://apply.interfolio.com/44239.

Reed College is a community that believes that cultural diversity is essential to the excellence of our academic program. In your application materials, we welcome a description of how, as a scholar, teacher, or community member, you would engage and sustain the commitment to diversity and inclusion articulated in Reed College's diversity statement (http://www.reed.edu/diversity/).

An Equal Opportunity Employer, Reed values diversity and encourages applications from underrepresented groups.
