The Economics Department of Reed College invites applications from economists who are committed to undergraduate teaching for a visiting position (one semester or one year) to begin in the Fall of 2017 or Spring of 2018. Course load will be five courses per academic year, or two to three courses per semester. Candidates may also advise several year-long senior thesis projects.

Reed College is a community that believes that cultural diversity is essential to the excellence of our academic program. In your application materials, we welcome a description of how, as a scholar, teacher, or community member, you would engage and sustain the commitment to diversity and inclusion articulated in Reed College's diversity statement (http://www.reed.edu/diversity/).

Individuals interested in this position should send a detailed letter of application describing both your interest in teaching and the courses you would most like to teach. In addition, please submit a curriculum vitae, teaching evaluations, a recent research paper, and a list of references at http://apply.interfolio.com/43237. Applications will be reviewed as they are received.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in economics or a related field, or be working towards one. We are happy to consider applications from those at all points in their career. In addition, two tenure-track openings will be advertised in September, with appointments for Fall 2018; interested candidates should apply separately for these positions. An Equal Opportunity Employer, Reed values diversity and encourages applications from underrepresented groups.
