The Graduate School of Business and Public Policy (GSBPP) at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) seeks applicants for one or more full-time tenure track positions (rank open) to begin in the fall of 2017. The successful candidate(s) will be responsible for teaching graduate economics and policy courses and advising student theses in our MBA and the M.S. programs. Applicants should have completed a Ph.D. in either Economics or Public Policy with a specialization in Economics, have a strong quantitative background, and have experience in policy-oriented research. We seek candidates whose work is defense relevant, which includes fields such as: Education, Health, Industrial Organization, Development, Environmental, Energy, Public, and Labor. Advanced Junior and Senior candidates should have a clear record of academic achievement.

NPS is the nation's premier defense related graduate university and highly values both research and instruction. Located in scenic Monterey/Carmel, California, the school offers unique opportunities for access to both data and summer research funding. The GSBPP has over 70 full-time faculty and about 300 full-time graduate students, most of whom are military officers, and approximately 300 distant learning students (military officers and Department of Defense civilian employees). NPS is on a quarter system, and the normal teaching load for tenure-track faculty is four courses per year (typical arrangement is 2 per quarter for 2 quarters).

Minimum qualifications:
* U.S. citizenship or permanent residency
* A Ph.D. in Economics, or Public Policy with a specialization in Economics.
* Evidence of economics and policy-oriented research, with research accomplishments commensurate with the length of applicant's professional experience.
* Proven teaching effectiveness (either as a dedicated course or within a broader course)

Additional qualifications:
* Experience with military relevant research is preferred.
* Experience with teaching graduate students is preferred.

Other information:
NPS offers competitive compensation with salaries that are commensurate with qualifications and experience. A relocation package, including recruitment/relocation incentive may be authorized. We may also able to defray most re-location expenses.
