The Defense Resources Management Institute (DRMI) at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) is accepting applications for a non-tenure track faculty position in a defense resources management and analytical decision making education program, at the rank of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer. Applicants with degrees and relevant experience in Finance or Financial Management, Budgeting, Operations Research, Decision Analysis, Statistics, Accounting, Management, Public Administration, Economics, or a related field are encouraged to apply. Prior experience working in or with the Department of Defense (DoD) is preferred, and prior DoD experience in research and/or instruction is strongly preferred.

DRMI conducts professional education programs in defense resources management and analytical decision making for military officers of all services, senior civilian officials of the United States, and participants from over 160 other countries. Candidates will be expected to make professional and intellectual contributions to DRMI programs including improvements in learning and pedagogy, practice, and academic discipline. Prior teaching experience at the university level is not required; however, some form of teaching experience in the classroom, providing military briefings, etc. is strongly preferred.

Candidates must be able to teach in an integrated, team-teaching environment in resources management short courses, and must be willing to travel internationally (generally no more than five weeks per year) and domestically. The candidate is expected to be available to teach year-round and be based in Monterey, CA. Full time telework is not available; however, telework is available on a situational basis. The target starting date for the candidate ideally is September 2016. Review of applications will begin on August 1, 2016. However, the position will remain open until filled.

Minimum qualifications:

• A graduate degree (MA, MS, MBA, MPA, MPP), in a relevant discipline, including but not limited to finance or financial management, budgeting, operations research, decision analysis, statistics, accounting, management, public administration, economics, or a related field.
• Eligible for a Secret Clearance
• U.S. citizen

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Applicants with foreign education will be required to select from a list of private organizations that are members of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES), which provide foreign education evaluations acceptable to NPS.
Relocation package, including recruitment/relocation incentive may be authorized. We are able to defray approximately all expenses associated with the transportation of you and your household effects in accordance with policies contained in the Government’s Joint Travel Regulations.
