Full Text of JOE Listing:
The Institute of State Economy at Nankai University invites applications for 1-2 tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level in Experimental/Behavioral Economics. The positions will be 12-month appointments at the rank of Assistant Professor with approximately 70% of time devoted to research and 30% of time devoted to teaching. The appointments will begin July 2017.
The candidates are expected to use experimental methods to address issues of relevance to China. Teaching at graduate level is also included. Preference will be given to candidates with interest in applying experimental methods to macroeconomics, financial markets, environmental and energy issues.
The Institute of State Economics committed to becoming a world-class think-tank. The research priorities are macroeconomic policy and public policy. The Institute is developing a new area of expertise in experimental economics and opened Nankai Vernon L. Smith Experimental Economics Laboratory. This lab is a joint partnership with the Experimental Economics Program at the University of Alaska Anchorage.
Required degree: Ph.D. in economics, natural resource, environmental, or agricultural economics, or closely related fields. Candidates must have earned the doctorate by the start of the appointment. Interviews will be conducted at the 2017 ASSA meeting.
