The Department of Accounting and Finance at Lancaster University Management School (LUMS) seeks candidates for two full-time 50th Anniversary Lectureship (Assistant Professor) Positions in Finance starting in the summer of 2017. These posts are part of the University’s 50th Anniversary Scheme, designed to attract excellent candidates to further strengthen the University’s academic standing. The posts carry no teaching and administrative duties in the first two years and reduced teaching and administrative duties for the next three years to enable faster career progression.

About the Department: The department offers an excellent research environment, with a high level of collegiality, generous research budgets, subscriptions to state-of-the-art databases, a strong seminar series, and a senior visitors program. The Department of Accounting and Finance is one of the largest departments within LUMS - a world-ranked international business school that has consistently ranked among the UK's top ten universities for nearly two decades. In the 2014 Research Excellence Framework, LUMS was ranked first in the UK in research power and is one of few business schools whose programs are accredited by all three international business school accreditation bodies: AMBA, EQUIS and AACSB. In the latest Financial Times Global Ranking, the Lancaster MBA was ranked 35th in the world (4th in the UK). The Master in Finance was ranked 30th in the world (6th in the UK). Job Qualifications: Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Finance or a related discipline, or should be expected to complete their Ph.D. in the near future. Candidates should be able to pursue their own independent research and develop publications in top finance journals. We welcome candidates working in all areas of finance, particularly those in the areas of banking and corporate finance.
