The Department of Economics invites applications to fill one or more senior faculty openings at the associate or full professor rank to begin in Fall 2017. The fields within Economics are open, although applications are particularly encouraged from candidates in macroeconomics, development, labor, and other applied microeconomics fields including health, urban and industry economics. The Department welcomes applications from candidates whose interests are aligned with Northeastern University’s global mission and its research emphases on health, sustainability, security, and network sciences. The Department also welcomes applicants interested in interdisciplinary appointments with other colleges and schools within the university. A successful candidate at the rank of associate or full professor will have an excellent record of both scholarship and teaching.

The Department of Economics serves 850 undergraduate and 100 graduate students (MA and PhD). The PhD includes fields in labor and industrial organization. The Department expects to hire over ten new faculty members over the next five years.
