NBER’s Fellowship Program on Long-Term Fiscal Policy offers one year of research support for outstanding economists who can spend the year at our Cambridge office. The subject matter for fellowship research can be any aspect of long-term fiscal policy, including the effects of taxation and government debt on long-term economic growth, entitlement programs, the causes and consequences of government deficits, fiscal institutions, the fiscal impact of an aging population, fiscal federalism, and the political economy of fiscal reform.
Fellows receive a yearly stipend of $75,000, reimbursement for health insurance, office space, and modest funds for research expenses.
Applications are being accepted for the 2016-2017 academic year. Applicants must have completed a PhD and must be US Citizens or lawfully admitted for permanent residence. Applications from candidates from under-represented racial and ethnic groups; candidates with disabilities; and/or individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds are encouraged.
