Full Text of JOE Listing:
The Political Theory Project (PTP) at Brown University will be appointing visiting professorships for pre or post-tenure sabbatical applicants.
Brown will match half of current salary with the remainder provided by their home institution.
All Visiting Scholar appointments are for one year. Scholars pursue their own research and participate in PTP working groups. Post-doctoral fellows teach up to two seminar courses a year (either individually or as part of a team). Visiting professors teach up to one seminar course per year. All applications should include CV, three confidential letters of reference, a one-page research plan, and a writing sample of no more than 20,0000 words.
The mission of the PTP is to invigorate the study of institutions that make societies free, prosperous, and fair. Thus the Project is particularly interested in candidates whose research is accessible and relevant across disciplinary boundaries especially the intersections of politics, philosophy, and economics. Research that investigates the moral and practical relationships between market economies and democratic governments is common amongst our community of scholars.
Details about the Project’s research and mission can be found at www.politicaltheoryproject.org. Applications received by December 15, 2015 will be assured full consideration. Applications can be submitted online at http://apply.interfolio.com/32280.
