Full Text of JOE Listing:
The Political Theory Project (PTP) at Brown University is appointing up to four postdoctoral fellowships. PhD’s must have been received within the past three years.
Appointments are for one year. Scholars pursue their own research, participate in PTP working groups, and teach up to two seminar courses a year (either individually or as part of a team). Salary is competitive.
The mission of the PTP is to invigorate the study of institutions that make societies free, prosperous, and fair. Thus, the Project is particularly interested in candidates whose research is accessible and relevant across disciplinary boundaries especially the intersections of politics, philosophy, and economics. Research that investigates the moral and practical relationships between market economies and democratic governments is common amongst our community of scholars.
Details about the Project and a list of sample courses the Project would like to see developed can be found at www.politicaltheoryproject.org. In their cover letter, applicants must indicate: 1) how their work advances the Project’s mission and 2) which Project-sponsored course they would most like to teach and why. Applications received by December 15, 2015 will be assured of full consideration. Applications can be submitted online at: http://apply.interfolio.com/31971.
