The Department of Economics invites applications for a full-time non-tenure track position at the rank of Lecturer. We are seeking outstanding teachers with a record of excellence in the classroom who can successfully teach large sections of Introductory Macroeconomics (600 or more students) and large sections of Intermediate Macroeconomics (250 or more students). Lecturers are responsible for preparing and presenting lectures, writing and grading examinations, holding office hours to meet with students outside of class time, monitoring teaching assistants, and assigning grades. The Department offers a Ph.D. degree, a professional Masters degree (MSPE), and an undergraduate degree (BA). For more information about the Department, see http://www.economics.illinois.edu.

The target start date is Aug 16, 2016. Salary is competitive and dependent on qualifications and experience. The position is renewable based on funding and strong annual performance reviews.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. and have a minimum of two years of full-time economics teaching experience at the college level. Applicants should submit a letter of interest, a curriculum vitae, a teaching statement and evidence of teaching effectiveness (which may include examples of innovative teaching practices, teaching evaluations, etc.) and the contact information for three professional references on teaching accomplishments. The teaching statement should include evidence that the applicant has been or would be a successful instructor in large sections.
