The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga invites applications for the position of Department Head for the newly formed Department of Finance and Economics in the College of Business. The Department Head oversees the academic leadership of the Department, works with other programs in the College and University, and maintains and enhances the connection between the Department and the business community. The Department Head is also responsible for establishing the vision and direction for the finance and economics programs. The Department Head will serve on the College’s Executive Committee and will report directly to the Dean of the College of Business.

Requirements include having a PhD or DBA in finance, economics, or closely related field from an accredited university; a record of accomplishments consistent with appointment as a tenured Full Professor; a record of strong leadership within a collegial and team-oriented academic environment; demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with external constituencies.

The College of Business and the Accounting program at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga are AACSB accredited. The Department of Finance and Economics has approximately 250 undergraduate finance majors and approximately 80 undergraduate economics majors. The Department also offers finance and economics classes in the part-time MBA program as well as a growing online professional MBA program.
