The Department of Economics at Vanderbilt University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Political Economy at the Assistant Professor level starting in Fall semester 2016. We strongly encourage applications from candidates whose research interests include the interaction of political and economic factors applied to fields such as public economics, macroeconomics, international economics and collective decision-making.

Appointment at the Assistant Professor level at full salary requires a Ph.D. as of August 2016.
Faculty duties include the development of a distinguished and visible program of research as well as teaching.

Applicants for the position should use either (but not both) the AEA JOE submission system or Econjobmarket.org. Submissions should include a cover letter, CV, job market paper, statement of teaching interests and evidence of teaching effectiveness; you will also need to designate three references who will be contacted by the system for letters of recommendation. If for some reason you cannot access (and successfully use) either of those two submissions systems, you should send a cover letter, CV, job market paper, statement of teaching interests, evidence of teaching effectiveness, and three letters of recommendation (under separate cover) to Margaret Fergus, Department of Economics, Vanderbilt University, 2301 Vanderbilt Place, VU Station B Box 351819, Nashville, TN 37235. Again, please use only one channel of submission.

We will commence reviewing submissions on November 16th, 2015, and will schedule interviews at the AEA meetings shortly thereafter.
