Applications and nominations are sought for the Fred T. Tattersall Distinguished Chair of Finance in the Department of Finance of the College of Business and Economics at West Virginia University. This tenured appointment will be made at the rank of associate or full professor. The title of Fred Tattersall Chair of Finance is awarded for up to a five-year period and is renewable. The salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Finance or a related discipline, a distinguished research record in Finance, and demonstrated excellence in teaching. We seek an active senior scholar. The successful candidate will be expected to provide leadership in the research endeavors of the department and collaborate with other faculty members. The Chair will also be expected to take a leadership role in the Finance Ph.D. program by teaching doctoral courses, supervising dissertations and working closely with doctoral students.

Founded in 1867, West Virginia University is the state’s primary land-grant comprehensive institution. WVU is classified as a Research University (High Research Activity) by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. The College of Business and Economics is AACSB accredited and offers undergraduate majors in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Management and Marketing, and master’s degrees in Business Administration, Finance, Industrial Relations, Economics, and Professional Accountancy. The College also has Ph.D. programs in Economics and in Business Administration, with concentrations in Accounting, Finance, Management and Marketing.
