The School of Economics is one of the leading research and teaching departments for economics in the UK and Europe with an international reputation for excellence in teaching and research of the highest quality across all areas of the discipline. The successful candidates will be expected to add to these strengths.
Candidates are expected to have an outstanding international reputation and widely recognised eminence in their field. The School has existing strengths in the areas of econometrics, macroeconomics and international trade and the person appointed will be expected to deepen and complement these strengths.
The fields of macroeconomic and international economics are broadly defined to cover theoretical or applied work and could incorporate monetary and international trade and finance specialisms.
The person appointed will be expected to contribute to the leadership of the School’s teaching and research activities and to support the School’s generation of research grant income.
