Qatar Foundation created Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF) in 2006 as part of its ongoing commitment to establish Qatar as a knowledge-based economy.

The Social-Sciences-Arts-and-Humanities (SAH) Pillar of QNRF aims to foster original, competitively-selected research.

The successful candidate will manage and facilitate the implementation of QNRF research competitions and projects in his/her area of expertise, such as:

- Community and Land Use Planning
- Spatial Modeling and Urban Analytics
- Urban Development, Environmental Policy and Ecological Planning
- Urban and Regional Economics.

The responsibilities include, for example, working with the Director (SAH) to establish policies, research priorities, and funding activities, administration of the review process and proposal recommendations, portfolio management, and post-award monitoring of funded projects, including site visits and review of annual progress/final reports.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. or other appropriate terminal degree in planning or a related field plus, after award of the Ph.D., six or more years of successful research, research administration, and/or managerial experience pertinent to the position.
