Job Description:
The Applied Research and Modelling Division within the Financial Stability Department intends to fill a vacancy for an economist, as of 2014, with expertise in doing empirical research and policy analysis on financial stability, macroprudential policy, the relationship between the financial sector and aggregate economic activity, systemic risk, risk management and capital adequacy, financial risk modelling, stress testing, financial markets, household finance, financial econometrics, or banking.

Candidates need to have obtained a PhD in economics or finance, or the equivalent, preferably in an area mentioned above, or be close to doing so and have a strong interest in economic policy. Former professional experience from a central bank or financial institute would be an asset. Successful applicants are analytical, independent, cooperative, goal oriented and thorough.

Candidates are expected to produce policy oriented research and current analyses on topics relevant for the Riksbank, contribute to the policy work of the financial stability department and provide advice within their field of expertise. An ability to communicate and present complex issues effectively and to policymakers is very important.

The working languages are English and Swedish. Proficiency in Swedish is not required but candidates are encouraged and supported to learn Swedish. Because work can require representing the Riksbank at international meetings excellent writing and speaking skills in English are a prerequisite.
