Two postdoctoral fellowships in economics are being offered through Columbia University to be supervised by Professor Joseph E. Stiglitz. One of the fellowships will focus on research in inequality analyzing the dimensions, causes, consequences and policy responses. Research can focus on US and/or international aspects of inequality. This fellowship is part of the Roosevelt Institute Project on Economic Inequality. Fellows may spend part of their time at the Roosevelt Institute or one of the other partner institutions. The fellowship will last up to two years in duration.

One of the postdoctoral fellowships is for research in macroeconomics, with a focus on advancing our understanding of the explanations of deep downturns and slow recovery. This fellowship is part of the Institute of New Economic Thinking (INET) Task Force in macro-economic externalities, highlighting market failures associated with the 2008 and other crises, and including analyses of the consequences of rigidities, non-rational expectations, credit and other market interlinkages. Fellows may spend part of their time with other INET programs.
