Tulane University invites nominations and applications for two endowed Chairs at the Stone Center for Latin American Studies. Persons nominated or applying must work in the social sciences, including traditional areas of Latin American social sciences work at Tulane, especially economics.

Ideal candidates will exhibit a mix of talents and abilities that can seize upon existing opportunities for Latin American work at Tulane and build upon them in innovative ways. Candidates should be accomplished teachers and mentors. They should demonstrate a strong international scholarly reputation and present a successful record of external funding. Candidates with records as successful developers of distinctive interdisciplinary academic programs will be especially welcome.

Each Stone Center Chair will report both to the Dean of the School that is their disciplinary home and to the relevant Department Chair (or Area Head). Potential nominees or applicants should possess the rank of Associate Professor or above. Salary, rank and other benefits will be commensurate with experience.

The search for both positions will continue until successful completion. Nominations and expressions of interest will be considered until the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost receives a select list of candidates for final consideration. The search committee will initiate the screening of candidates upon receipt of information.
