NYU Shanghai seeks to fill an open-ranked position in applied microeconomics with a focus on policy-relevant research. While familiarity with research on and the economic policy challenges of China is valued, we also welcome applicants with broader interests whose research is relevant to the economic policy of the region. Relevant fields include, but are not limited to, development, education, environment, health, labor, public economics, and urban.

The successful candidate will join a vibrant and growing community of economists and other social scientists at NYU Shanghai, and will teach in the Global China Studies major, an innovative interdisciplinary program that focuses on the historical, cultural, and economic interrelationships between China and the world.

The terms of employment in NYU Shanghai are comparable to U.S. institutions in terms of research start-up funds and compensation, and include housing subsidies and educational subsidies for children. Faculty may also spend time at NYU New York and other sites of the NYU global network, engaging in both research and teaching.
