Harvard University Department of Economics and the Social Science Genetic Association Consortium (SSGAC) are seeking a postdoctoral candidate to conduct research in the field of genoeconomics. The candidate would work under the supervision of Prof. David Laibson and would spend part of his time helping analyze the SSGAC’s genoeconomic data, summarize the findings, write and publish research papers, and develop testable hypotheses for further research.

The SSGAC (www.ssgac.org) is a cooperative enterprise among medical researchers, economists and social scientists that coordinates genetic association studies for social science outcomes. The SSGAC also tries to promote the collection of harmonized and well-measured phenotypes.

The starting date is November 2014, or upon mutual agreement. The position will last 1 year.

Applicants must hold a PhD in economics, genetics, or related disciplines and must have strong quantitative and econometric skills as well as experience working with large genetic datasets. Applicant must have a keen interest in questions at the intersection of genetics and economics and the social sciences.
