CSWEP Board: Shahina Amin

Shahina Amin is the Lawrence Jepson Professor of International Economics at the Department of Economics, College of Business Administration, University of Northern Iowa. She received a B.S.S. in Economics from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh and her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Before joining the UNI Department of Economics in 2000, Professor Amin taught at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, University of Nebraska at Omaha, and Grinnell College. Since joining the UNI faculty, she has produced numerous publications that deal with child labor and gender employment issues in developing countries. She investigates how policies in the United States can affect children in developing countries. Her current research studies how immigration affects youth employment in a country.
