AEA Annual Elections
The Nominating Committee, consisting of Christina Romer (Chair), Nicholas Bloom, David Cutler, Judith Hellerstein, Nancy Qian, Melvin Stephens, Jr., Omari Swinton, and Abigail Wozniak submitted its nominations for vice presidents and elected members of the Executive Committee on April 18. The Electoral College, consisting of the Nominating Committee and the Executive Committee's voting members together, then selected the nominee for president-elect.
The 2025 slate of candidates for 2026 officers is:

New Editor Appointed for American Economic Journal: Applied Economics
The AEA Executive Committee is pleased to announce the appointment of Raymond Fisman of Boston University as the new lead editor for the AEJ: Applied Economics beginning January 2026. Professor Fisman was appointed after an extensive search that included input from the membership. The Association thanks outgoing AEJ: Applied Economics Editor Benjamin Olken for his outstanding efforts devoted to making the journal among the most respected scholarly outlets in economics.
Don't Miss the Upcoming Workshop Presented by AEA Ombuds Team
The next one-hour workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, May 20 at 3:00 p.m. EST via Zoom and will be led by the Ombuds team at MWI. This workshop is designed to help members understand how ombuds can support members who experience sexual harassment, discrimination, and retaliation.
