Date: January 14, 2025
To: Members of the American Economic Association
From: Peter L. Rousseau, Secretary-Treasurer

The 2025 ASSA Meeting took place in San Francisco, with more than 5,700 registrants. The energy among attendees and colleagues to be back together and the excitement for the new opportunities at the meeting were unmistakable throughout the hotels and meeting areas. Sixty-seven associations came together to hold more than 500 scientific sessions including paper sessions, panel sessions, presidential addresses, poster sessions, and recent development lectures. There were also many special events including receptions, mentoring and networking luncheons, award ceremonies, and breakfast meetings. Get an inside look at some of the 2025 sessions, attendees, content, and lively discussions by viewing the ASSA Photo Gallery at https://www.aeaweb.org/conference/2025-photos and watching the webcasts.

2025 AEA Program Committee

The committee was formed by AEA President Lawrence Katz, and included individuals from a broad range of institutions and fields, resulting in a diverse and interesting program. AEA Poster Session Videos – Coming Soon!

The 2025 AEA Poster Session proved highly popular this year with designated times for the presenters. The AEA Poster Session videos, which feature AEA interviews with 2025 poster presenters who discuss their research and the broader implications of their work will be available soon. AEA Mentoring and Networking Luncheon

The inaugural AEA Mentoring and Networking luncheon was a resounding success! Over 500 table leaders and participants came together over lunch for insightful discussions, connection-building, and valuable exchanges. The energy in the room was palpable and we hope it was a memorable experience for all involved. The AEA would like to thank the table leaders who readily and enthusiastically agreed to serve. We are also grateful for the participants who signed up and were engaged with both fellow attendees and the leaders.
