Subject: Register Now for the Live Workshop Hosted by the Ombuds Team on January 19

Don’t miss the upcoming workshop: “From Bystander to Upstander.” The workshop, scheduled for January 19 from noon to 1:00 p.m. EST via Zoom, will be led by the AEA Ombuds Team at MWI.  What can you do when you see someone in your department or institution being harassed or witness an act of discrimination? Or when you notice a colleague being bullied at a conference or hear a microaggression in a meeting? Do you step in and potentially make matters worse or embarrass yourself? Do you say nothing and watch a colleague suffer? While you may not be directly involved, destructive behavior can take a heavy toll on targets and bystanders alike. This live workshop  will help participants identify and discuss five strategies to use when witnessing destructive behavior, determine when each strategy might be most effective, and apply the strategies to real-life scenarios.
