The Baylor Interdisciplinary Core (BIC) seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Sociology, Economics, or a related social science, beginning in August 2027.
The BIC is an integrated, team-taught core curriculum in the Honors College, emphasizing global and comparative perspectives on primary texts in historical context through small seminars and large lectures.
The preferred candidate will address questions of markets, morality, and economic systems through a primary-text curriculum. Relevant training includes economic sociology or anthropology, political economy, or the history/theory of economics. The candidate will pursue research that engages audiences beyond their home discipline and teach in two BIC sequences: World Cultures, Natural World, and/or Social World. Additional expectations include team teaching, mentoring undergraduates, and collegial service to the program, college, and university. Teaching and research expectations follow Baylor's Faculty Workload Policy.
