Full Text of JOE Listing:
The School of Finance, Economics, and Government at Universidad EAFIT (Medellín, Colombia) invites applications for three tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Starting dates are flexible, between January and August 2027. The School ranks second among Colombian universities in the IDEAS/RePEc ranking. Selected candidates join an interdisciplinary research and teaching team with close ties to financial institutions, governments, multilateral organizations, and civil society organizations.
Position 1 — Macroeconomics and Financial Systems. Training and research experience in one or more of: macrofinance and macroprudential policy; finance and development; investment and growth; misallocation and productivity; sovereign debt and bond markets; pension systems.
Position 2 — Markets and Financial Strategy. Training and research experience in one or more of: the industrial organization of energy markets; organizational economics (theory of the firm, personnel economics, corporate finance); the intersection of urban economics and real estate finance.
Position 3 — Public Administration. Research experience in one or more of: public finance; public administration modernization and digital government (GovTech); subnational government and multilevel governance; integrity and transparency. Candidates should also offer capacity for applied quantitative and comparative research and teaching experience in public administration, management, or new technologies for the public sector.
All positions require a PhD in a relevant discipline by the start date or shortly thereafter; a strong research agenda or a publication record for appointment at the Associate rank; and a commitment to teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Proficiency in Spanish and English is required. Salaries are competitive at all ranks, with bonuses for publications, grants, and consultancy, and tenure-track faculty receive a permanent contract after a successful tenure review.
