The Council of Economic Advisers (CEA) is seeking Senior Economists to join its staff in Washington, DC. Senior Economists conduct rigorous, policy-relevant economic analysis and work closely with CEA leadership, other components of the Executive Office of the President, and federal agencies on a wide range of economic policy issues.
CEA welcomes applications from economists across a broad range of fields. Candidates whose research and expertise can be applied to current economic policy questions are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications:
Applicants should have a Ph.D. in economics or a closely related field, strong analytical and empirical skills, and a demonstrated ability to conduct high-quality economic research. Successful candidates will be able to apply economic research and data to policy questions, communicate findings clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences, and work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
CEA's usefulness to the President rests on the quality and integrity of its analysis, and the Council's work is held to professional research standards.
Conditions of Employment:
U.S. citizenship; favorable background investigation; financial disclosure and compliance with executive branch ethics rules, which may require divestiture or recusal from consulting and other outside activities. Position is located in Washington, DC, and is not remote-eligible.
