Position Description
The Department of Criminology, Law and Society (CLS) at the University of California, Irvine invites applications for a faculty position in CLS. We welcome applications from outstanding candidates in all fields who will build on our departmental strengths in theory, research, and policy analysis. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research interests and expertise include one or more of the following substantive areas: Health, Democracy and Human Rights, Technology and AI, Gender, and Climate and the Environment.
The appointment will be made at the rank of Full Professor (with tenure); we also welcome applications from current Advanced Associate Professors who would be eligible for promotion to Full Professor at the University of California at or near the time of appointment. Priority will be given to applications received by that date; however, applications will be accepted until the position is filled. The position will begin July 1, 2027 (teaching duties will begin Fall 2027).
